FamilyNaz is a family — a place you can call home. It's where you can find hope, healing, and the next steps in your walk with Jesus. No matter where you're at on your journey, you can be confident that you're more than welcome at FamilyNaz — you're wanted. We invite you to look through our website and the ministries that are in place for you and your family. In case you are wondering, you don’t have to dress up or look a certain way. You don’t have to be any particular age. This is a church where God meets people who aren’t perfect, and no matter where you are on your personal spiritual journey, you are absolutely welcome here. You are Family! We are not a perfect church (as we don’t believe one exists) but we are a church family that is full of people who love God, and love each other and we are excited to meet you and welcome you into our church family.
Many people don’t know where to begin when visiting a church for the first time, and we want to make it as simple as possible for you. Wherever you find yourself exploring the idea of God and the Church for the first time or you’ve been a Christ follower for many years, we want your visit to be great!
Here is what you can expect upon your visit…
God made us to be in community with people. We need each other, because we can do more, be more, and endure more when we're walking through life together. Small groups at FamilyNaz are places to build authentic relationships with people who will support you and love you, no matter what. These groups meet at the church and in individual homes. We also offer a Wednesday Night prayer and bible study. This is a great time to come together mid-week.
DIGGING DEEPER. Bible Study is much like our Small Groups, meet at various times throughout the week. The main distinction between these two ways to connect at FamilyNaz is curriculum. While Small Groups might use the week's sermon to launch discussion and study, Bible Study curriculum is usually chosen based on the participants for that particular study. We would love for you to join us. Check out our Events page to see when our Bible Studies meet.
A PLACE TO BELONG. 1 Thessalonians 2:8 says, "Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the Gospel but our own lives as well." Small Groups are a way that we live out this scripture at Family Naz. Because of their small size and personal touch, they are a way to connect with others and grow deeper in your walk with God not usually available in a larger worship setting. Small Groups meet at the church and in homes throughout the year. If you would like more information about joining a Small Group, please contact Pastor Autumn Howard.
PLANNED POT-LUCK & BIBLE STUDY. Friday Night 'Light' is an opportunity for spiritual growth, fellowship and deeper friendships with the body of Christ. We meet at a host's home every Friday from 6-8 pm. There are 8 different groups. If you would like more information about Friday Night Lights, please contact Pastor Jon Johnston.
Restart Student Ministries. Our youth meet on Sunday Evenings from 4-6 pm. If you have teenagers that are in 7th-12th grade, then this is the place for them! Loaded with worship, interactive activities, and teaching that is relevant to the real issues that teens face each day. If you have any questions concerning youth group, please contact our youth leader, Erin Lane.
A PLACE JUST FOR KIDS. Each Sunday Newborns through 6th graders, learn the truth about who God is and how they can have a closer walk with him. Age-appropriate lessons are taught in safe environments. We have a full volunteer staffs that serve in Nursery, Pre-School, and Children’s Church. All children are safely checked in through our kid-check system, and all volunteers are background checked. Our Bible Quiz team meets on Sunday afternoons at 4:30pm and our Wednesday night programing begins at 6:30pm.
Throughout children’s ministry at FamilyNaz, It is our goal that each child and will connect with their peers, developing strong friendships with both them and their leaders… but most importantly developing a life long relationship with Jesus.
Adults 55 + We believe that life after 55 is a season of renewed purpose and opportunity. Our 55+ ministry is a place that you can find a community of faith, fellowship, service, growth, and fun. Together, we can continue to thrive and make a meaningful impact in this season of life. We invite you to be a part of our mission to live purposefully, passionately, and joyfully for God. Pastor Jon & Jennifer Johnston lead this very active ministry.
SERVING OUTSIDE THESE WALLS. Our missions team is strong at FamilyNaz. We meet together regularly, care for each other selflessly, and are involved in projects in our local community, throughout the United States, and around the world. Some projects are annually like our love for the mountain town of Jolo, West Virginia (the poorest county in the U.S) from repairs on houses, to building new tiny homes, to building churches. Our Missions team has been blessed to visit here many times.
Our Children also are very active through the Missions on the Move Ministry and our teens serve dinner often at the Eastside Mission. We also partner with the global Church of the Nazarene in supporting missionaries who serve around the globe. There are honestly too many projects a year to list here. If serving in missions is something your heart is drawn to, contact Mary Bray our Missions President.
